May 27 Term paper grades have been entered into KUSIS.
May 26 The average of quiz grades (with bonus added) and the Midterm Exam 2 grades have been entered into KUSIS. Students can view their exam papers during this week by contacting the TA. They can make objections in writing. No objections will be accepted after Friday May 29. The solution to exam problems have been posted in the link Solution to Quiz & Exam Problems.
Apr. 30 Quiz 4 will include at least one of the homework problems given in Assignments 7 and 8.

The ninth set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

Midterm Exam 2 will include at least one of the homework problems given in Assignment 9.  For further information about this exam and its coverage, see Exam 2.

There will be no class on May 21.

Apr. 28 There will be no class on April 30.
Apr. 23 The eighth set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.
Apr. 17 The seventh set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

Quiz 4 will be held on Thursday, May 07 at 14:30 in CASE-B40. It will cover the material from Chapter 6 of the textbook that are treated in Lectures 18-24. At least one of the quiz problems will be from the suggested exercises.

Apr. 13 Make-up Exam will be held on Monday, Mary 25 at 14:00 in SCI-129. Students who missed one or both of the midterm exams and have a documented valid excuse will be allowed to take this exam.
Apr. 08 Midterm Exam 2 will be held on Monday, Mary 18 at 19:00 in SCI-129.
Apr. 02 The sixth set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

Quiz 3 will be held on Friday, April 17 at 08:30 in ENG-B21. It will cover the material from Chapter 6 of the textbook that are treated in Lectures 14-17. At least one of the quiz problems will be from the suggested exercises.

Apr. 01 Midterm Exam 1 grades have been entered in KUSIS. Students can view their exam papers during the TA's office hours. They can make objections before 12:00 (noon) Friday April 17 in writing. No objections will be accepted after this time. The solution to exam problems have been posted in the link Solution to Quiz & Exam Problems.
Mar. 30 Term-paper projects have been assigned. See the link: Term-paper Project Assignment.
Mar. 18 There will be no PS this week. Instead, Neslihan Oflaz will teach a pre-exam review secession during the class on March 24.

The fifth set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

 For detailed information about the Midterm Exam 1, see Exam 1. Exam 1 problems will include at least one of the homework problems of Assignments 4 and 5.

Mar. 16 Midterm Exam 1 will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 12:15 in SCI-129.
Mar. 12 The forth set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.
Mar. 11 Topics for the term-paper projects have been announced. See Term-Paper Topics. The deadline for choosing a topic for the term paper is 23 March, 2015. For further information see Term Paper.
Mar. 06 Solutions to Quiz 1 problems have been posted. See Solution to Quiz & Exam Problems.

To compensate for the lectures we will miss in May (for conference attendance), there will be a total of 5 extra lectures. These will be during some of the PS hours on Wednesday (16:00-16:50 in ENG-B16). The dates have been marked in the table for the lectures. See Lectures. The PS in the weeks in which there is an extra lecture will be held on Friday of the same week at 08:30-09:50 in ENG-B21.

Mar. 05 The third set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

Quiz 2 will be held on Friday, March 13 at 08:30 in ENG-B21. It will cover the material from Chapter 3 of the textbook that are covered in Lectures 6-8. At least one of the quiz problems will be from the suggested exercises.

Feb. 23 Due to last week's snow holidays, Quiz 1 has been postponed to the PS on Wednesday, March 4. It will be held at 16:00 in Eng-B16 and cover the material from Chapters 1 and 2 of the textbook that are covered in Lectures 1-5. At least one of the quiz problems will be from the suggested exercises.

The PS on Wednesday March 04 will be postponed to 10:30-11:20 Friday March 06. It will be held in Eng-B16.

The second set of suggested exercise problems has been assigned. See Exercise Problems.

Feb. 13 There are two 50 minutes long PSs for this course. The PS on Wednesdays at 16:00-16:50 (in Eng-B16) is the regular PS hour in which the assistant will solve problems and answer your questions. The PS on Fridays at 10:30-11:20 (also in Eng-B16) will be used for quizzes, extra lectures, and pre-exam review sessions. The first PS will be held on Wednesday, February 18.

The date, time, and place of the quizzes and exams have been fixed and posted in the page Exam & Quiz Schedule. The dates for the extra lectures will be announced in due time. These will be used as substitute for the lectures that we will be missing when I need to attend scientific meetings abroad.
