The 3rd International Workshop on Pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonians in Quantum Physics (PHHQP3) was held at Koç University (KU), 20-22 June, 2005. The previous two workshops of this series had taken place in Prague in 2003 and 2004 and attended by a group of about 30 experts working on various aspects of pseudo-Hermitian and PT-symmetric Hamiltonians. The subject has been a focus of intensive research since the publication of the pioneering article by Carl Bender and his student Stephan Boettcher in 1998. The scientific quality of these meetings has been responsible for their continuation through the organization of the 3rd workshop at KU and the 4th workshop place at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in November 2005. The 5th workshop will be held in July 2006 at the University of Bologna, Italy.

PHHQP3 differed from the previous two workshops in this series in that it was also attended by a large group of physicists and mathematicians interested in the study of the mathematical structure of resonances. As a result, the number of participants increased substantially. Excluding the KU students and unregistered faculty members, the workshop was attended by 70 scientists from 22 different countries. The program of the meeting consisted of plenary and parallel sessions in which 56 lectures were delivered. The proceedings of PHHQP3 has been published as a special issue of the Czech Journal of Physics in September 2005.
