LECTURES:

Quantum Groups and Links by Ali Özgür Kişisel (METU)

In this series of talks we will discuss classical and quantum invariants of knots and links. I will try to describe several different viewpoints for obtaining these invariants.

A special emphasis will be on quantum groups.

Introduction to Symplectic and Contact Topology in Low Dimensions by Burak Özbağcı (Koç University)

Around Real Analytic Gradient Systems by Ferit Öztürk (Boğaziçi University)

Algebraic Surfaces and Their Applications by Mustafa Kalafat (Tunceli University)

An Introduction to Minimal Surfaces by Barış Coşkunüzer (Koç University)

TALKS:

Remarks on Simplectically Aspherical Manifolds (Ayşe Borat)

In the talk, we will give an example of a symplectic manifold whose fundamental group is large (in the symplectic sense) but its universal cover is not Stein.

Simple Singular Plane Sextics (Ayşegül Özgüner Akyol)

We consider irreducible complex plane projective curves of degree six with simple singular points only and classify such curves up to equisingular deformation. (We concentrate on the so-called non-special curves, as the special ones are already known). We list all sets of singularities realized by such curves, discuss their relation to the maximizing sets (i.e., those of total Milnor number 19), and, for each set of singularities found, describe the connected components of the moduli space. We also discuss the question of the realizability of a given set of singularities by a real curve.

Anti-canonical Correspondence for Real Del Pezzo Surfaces of Degree 3 (or 2) (Arzu Zabun)

In this talk, we study generic configurations of 6 (or 7) points in the real projective plane. In the case of 6-configurations, the anticanonical correspondence associates with such a configuration a certain configuration of 6 skew lines on a real cubic M-surface in three dimensional real projective plane while in the case of 7-configurations, the anticanonical correspondence, which associates with such a configuration a certain configuration of 7 lines which are bitangent to a quartic curve with 4 ovals. I am going to describe this correspondence.

A New Approach to Quantum Group SLq(n) (Münevver Çelik)

Dualities in String Theory (Aybike Özer)
