Noise and Interference in Circuits and Systems

Noise and various kinds of interference imposes fundamental limits on the performance of electronic circuits and communication systems. Our work in this project focuses on developing modeling and analysis techniques for noise and interference in analog/RF and mixed-signal integrated circuits and communication systems. Our research interests in noise are very broad and include nonstationary noise, phase noise in autonomous, coupled and phase-locked electronic oscillators and lasers, noise in optical communications, switching interference in mixed-signal systems on a chip (SOC), etc.
