Description : Elements of Functional Analysis
(Normed vector spaces, linear functionals, Baire Category theorem,
Topological Vector Spaces), Lp spaces, Hilbert Spaces, Applications
(Fourier transform, some applications to PDE's). The coverage of the course is contained in Chapters
5 and 6 of Folland and Chapters 4 and 5 of Stein&Shakarchi. There
might be some variations depending on the time constraints.
Textbooks
- Real Analysis: Modern Techniques and Their Applications, by G. B. Folland, Second Edition,Wiley Interscience, 1999

Grades
Homework Assignments : %30
Midterm Exam : %30
Final Exam : %40
You will be held responsible for all information that is discussed during lecture and in the homework.
