His current research develops general equilibrium models to analyze individual making and statistical models for strategic decision making, and uses these models to study issues in educational policy, specializing in the economics and finance of schools, and international conflict.

His publications have appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, the B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis; Policy, the Journal of Housing Economics, the Journal of Public Economic Theory (forthcoming), the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Handbook of Urban Economics and Planning. Research and teaching interests are in the Economics of Education, in Urban Economics, in Statistics and in Econometrics.
