Title: Finite Time Blow-up of Solutions to PDE’s

Abstract: The talk will be devoted to the blow-up of solutions to the initial-boundary value and Cauchy problems for nonlinear wave equations in finite time. We will discuss energy methods for establishing sufficient conditions, which guarantee the finite time blow-up of solutions to the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations, the nonlinear Boussinesq type equations, Kirchhoff type equations, and related systems.

Speaker's Brief Biography: Dr. Bilgesu Arif Bilgin got her BSc degree in 2008 from the Electric and Electronics Department of METU; MSc degree in 2011 from the Koc University; and PhD degree in 2015 from the Koc University. Dr. Bilgin's research interests lie mainly in Partial Differential Equations and Control Theory.
