Math-Sci Seminar: On the local and global class field theory Speaker: Prof. İlhan İkeda, Department of Mathematics, Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul Title: On the local and global class field theory (in the sense of Koch). Date: Thu 19 Oct, 2006 Time: 16:45 Place: Science Building, Room Z42 Abstract: In the first half of my talk, I shall briefly describe my joint work with Mr. Erol Serbest on the non-abelian local class field theory via generalized Fesenko reciprocity cycles using Fontaine-Wintenberger theory of fields of norms and the theory of Sen cohomology. In the second half, I shall focus on the global case. By "glueing" in a certain way the local class formations introduced in the first part of my talk, I shall construct the non-abelian idele-class group. Finally, I shall construct the global Fesenko recprocity cycle that describes the class field theory of the absolute Galois extension of the global field K.
