INFORMATION ON THE ONLINE COURSES

STARTING ON MARCH 30 TILL MAY 22

 

1. The ONLINE courses will start on Monday, March 30. The lectures are the same for all four sections of the course.

2. The first half of the remaining semester, from March 30 April 21, will be done by  Professor Altan Erdoğan and the second half, from April 23 to May 22, will be done by Professor Attila Aşkar.

3. Course videos will be uploaded to blackboard and the link to the course videos will be shared by email (or by an announcement on blackboard). Lecture notes will be uploaded to the web site of the course (“Course Outline” tab on http://home.ku.edu.tr/~math203/).

The first lecture is on Section  13.2.

4. The lecture material will be basically the text book, supplemented by additional explanations and explanatory problems. This is an effort to focus your learning effort.

5. The HW problems and their solutions will be conducted as before: assigned on a Thursdays, and the solutions posted a week later.

6. One question from the assigned problems will be a test to be solved and submitted by the students before the posting of the solutions. These will count for 10% of the overall score.

7. Course videos are only for use of Spring 2020 MATH 203 students. They can not be shared or distributed on the web without permission of the instructors (as a policy of the university).

8. “Office Hours”: You may have lots of questions. First try asking your questions by emailing to your instructors. But be as clear as possible. For example;

“ I couldn’t understand how you found the point (1,1) in example 2 of section 13_2 between 13:14 – 18:20 in the video.”

We may give answers of your questions in a single file to be uploaded to blackboard (may be a pdf file or a video). Whenever we need a discussion session for your questions we may establish a live meeting in a proper platform (google, blackboard, or Microsoft teams). You will be informed.
