Professor of Physics
I joined Koç University in September 2001. I received my B.S.(1971) and Ph.D.(1976) degrees
from Middle East Technical University and was promoted to Professorship in 1987. I received the
TÜBITAK (Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) Science Prize in 1996, Prof.
Mustafa Parlar Foundation Science Prize in 1993, Simavi Foundation Science Prize in 1989 and
TÜBITAK Junior Science Prize in 1982. I am a Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences
(TÜBA) since 1994.
