Yalcin Akcay is an assistant professor of operations management at Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University and his master's degree in Business Administration at Middle East Technical University. Yalcin Akcay earned his dual Ph.D. degree in Business Administration and Operations Research at the Pennsylvania State University.

His current research interests are in stochastic modeling of operations systems, revenue management, pricing, supply chain management, and interface of marketing and operations. Yalcin Akcay teaches quantitative methods in business and management science courses at the undergraduate, MBA and executive MBA levels at Koc University.
