Sep. 13

Read the syllabus carefully. In particular, note that unless a student makes sufficient progress, he or she will not be eligible to take the final exam and as a result will fail this course automatically without having the right to take the make-up exam for the final. Sep. 20

Homework Assignment 1 (due on Sep. 28) has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to  access the homework problems.

Sep. 22

Homework Assignment 1 (due on Sep. 28) has been updated. Now, it includes the page and problem numbers for both the 6th and 7th editions of the textbook. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems.

Sep. 24

Students should download a copy of the Report Form 1, fill, and staple it to their homework paper 1 (due on Friday, September 28) so that it appears as the first page of the homework paper. This is necessary for proper grading of the homework papers and recording their grades.

Sep. 26

Homework Assignment 2 (due on Tuesday, Oct. 02) has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems. Do not forget to complete and turn in Report Form 2

together with your homework paper 2.

 

Quiz 1 will be held during the PSs held next week (Oct. 01-05). This homework covers material and problems given as Homework Assignments 1 and 2. See Homework Assignments. Students must take the quiz in the PS they are registered for, otherwise their quiz papers will not graded.

 

For Homework sets 1 and 2, no late homework papers will be accepted after 15:00 Wednesday, October 03.

 

There will be an extra Math 107 PS on Monday, October 01, 17:00-18:15 in ENG-B32. Extra PSs are held to make up for the time lost in the usual PSs for giving quizzes. If there is not enough interest in extra PSs, we will not do them in future.

Oct. 02

Homework Assignment 3 (due on Tuesday, Oct. 09) has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems. Do not forget to complete and turn in Report Form 3

together with your homework paper 3.

 

Quiz 2 will be held during the PSs held next week (Oct. 08-12). This homework covers material and problems given as Homework Assignment 3. See Homework Assignments. Students must take the quiz in the PS they are registered for, otherwise their quiz papers will not graded.

 

For Homework set 3, no late homework papers will be accepted after 15:00 Wednesday, October 10.

 

There will be an extra Math 107 PS on Tuesday, October 09, 17:00-18:15 in CAS-Z48. Extra PSs are held to make up for the time lost in the usual PSs for giving quizzes. If there is not enough interest in extra PSs, we will not do them in future.

Oct. 04

The extra PS scheduled for Tuesday, October 09, 17:00-18:15 will be held in SCI-129.

 

Midterm exam 1 will be held on Monday October 15, 18:30-20:30. It will cover the material discussed in Lectures 1-12. See the lecture contents by clicking on Lectures. For the place of this exam and further information click on Midterm Exam 1.

Oct. 08

A pre-midterm exam Review and Problem Session will be held on Saturday October 13, 10:30-11:45 in SOS-B21.

Homework Assignment 4 has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems. At least one of the Midterm Exam 1 problems will be selected among the material covered in the assigned reading material and problems given in Homework Assignment 4.

Oct. 12

Oct. 15

 A revised copy of Chapters 1-4 of "A First Course in Linear Algebra," has been sent to Copyland. All Math 107 students should get a copy of this, for we will begin using it as the main textbook for Math 107 starting tomorrow.

There will be two extra Math 107 PSs on Monday, December 03 (in ENG-B15) and Tuesday, December 04 (in SCI-129), both at 17:00-18:15. Extra PSs are held to make up for the time lost in the usual PSs for giving quizzes. If there is not enough interest in extra PSs, we will not do them in future.

There will be a pre-exam PS at 14:00-15:30, Sunday, December 09, in SCI-Z24.

Dec. 04

Midterm exam 2 will be held on Tuesday December 11, 18:30-20:30. It will cover the material discussed in Lectures 13-34. See the lecture contents by clicking on Lectures. For the place of this exam and further information click on Midterm Exam 2.

 

Homework Assignment 10 has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems. At least one of the Midterm Exam 1 problems will be selected among the material covered in the assigned reading material and problems given in Homework Assignment 10.

Dec. 05

Dec. 06

There will be a series of pre-exam review and problem sessions that are to be taught by the TAs according to the following schedule:

On Sunday December 09 Neslihan Oflaz will hold a PS in SCI-Z24 between 14:00 and 15:30.

On Monday December 10 Çağrı Hacıyusufoğlu will be available in his office (SCI-Z50) from 10:00 to 17:00 (except for lunch time) to answer students' questions.

On Monday December 10 Çağrı Hacıyusufoğlu will be available in the Classroom CAS-216 from 17:00 to 20:00 to go over the topics and solve the problems requested by the students.

On Tuesday December 11 Fatih Kangal will hold review and problem sessions during the lecture time (12:30-13:20 in SOS-B10 and 14:30-15:20 in SCI-Z24).

Dec. 10

There will be two extra Math 107 PSs on Monday, December 17 (in ENG-B15) and Tuesday, December 18 (in SCI-129), both at 17:00-18:15.

Dec. 20

For the students whose Math 107 PS is on Fridays, Quiz 7 is postponed to the PS on Friday, December 28.

Dec. 27

Homework Assignment 12  has been posted. Click on Homework Assignments and follow the relevant link to access the homework problems. At least one of these problems will be selected as a Final Exam problem.
